DENVER — Two students suspected of opening hearth at their faculty are charged with over a dozen counts of homicide and attempted murder in addition to theft and arson, prosecutors stated Wednesday.
The fees came on the same day a memorial service was being held for the one scholar who was killed within the Might 7 capturing on the STEM Faculty Highlands Ranch on Might 7. Wight students have been injured.
The accused gunmen, 18-yr-previous Devon Erickson and 16-yr-previous Alec McKinney, have been arrested on the faculty and investigators say they opened hearth inside utilizing handguns.
The fees have been listed in digital courtroom data. It wasn’t clear if McKinney was being charged as an adult.
The celebration of 18-yr-previous Kendrick Castillo’s life shall be held at Cherry Hills Group Church in Highlands Ranch. The senior was just days from graduating when he was fatally wounded.
Castillo along with classmates Brendan Bialy and Joshua Jones are credited with helping reduce the bloodshed by charging at one of the suspects in a classroom.
Based on Bialy, Castillo sprang into motion towards the shooter “and immediately was on prime of him with complete disregard for his own safety.” Jones stated he was shot twice in the leg through the ordeal. Bialy stated he was capable of take the attacker’s weapon.
All the injured college students have been released from hospitals.
