FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky Department of Schooling needs the names of every instructor who has referred to as in sick, forcing a whole lot of faculties to shut throughout the state.

Kentucky’s largest faculty district closed Thursday for the sixth time in two weeks as academics continued to protest at the state Capitol. The department despatched a letter to 10 faculty districts on Thursday asking them for academics’ names and any affidavits or physician’s notes.

Schooling Commissioner Wayne Lewis stated the division takes the closing of faculties “very critically.” A news release from the division says state officials will evaluation the knowledge and report findings to the state Board of Schooling.

Jefferson County Academics Association President Brent McKim stated the union would characterize any member who faces a disciplinary motion.
