TOKYO (AP) — U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has picked up his barbeque tongs to convey his message to Japan: Purchase extra American beef.

Perdue stated Monday that as a prime shopper of U.S. beef, Japan ought to treat the U.S. fairly. He stated he hoped President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will strike a trade deal throughout his boss’s go to to Japan later this month.

Japan’s limits on imports of meat and other farm merchandise have been a recurring concern in years’ long commerce talks with the U.S.

The Trump administration worries that Japan will buy extra from different nations which have signed commerce deals with Japan in recent times, resembling Australia and Europe.
