A Milwaukee server has a particular message for the regulation enforcement group, particularly after the tragic loss of Milwaukee officer Matthew Rittner.
Rittner was killed Wednesday whereas serving a search warrant on the town’s south aspect.
“This was such an unfortunate occasion that basically didn’t have to occur.”
The day after the tragedy, whereas working at The Cheesecake Manufacturing unit, Stephanie Wengler observed a family of 5. The mother was sporting a flag shirt with a blue line.
“I immediately acknowledged it needed to be someone who was a cop, so I asked her. She stated, ‘truly, yeah I’m a cop,’ and she or he checked out her husband and stated, he’s too and all I stated was thank you.”
However Wengel didn’t feel saying thank you was enough. She decided to write down them a sentimental letter.
“Pricey officers, I can’t fathom what you’re going via. I needed them to know that they have been liked, and regardless of the state of affairs that has happened, I’ll all the time again the blue.”
Wengel, whose father is a retired firefighter, stated she understands what officers undergo.
“I can’t imagine going by means of considered one of their funerals…I grew up with an entire bunch of cops as my neighbors, an entire bunch of firemen as my neighbors, and I don’t assume they get enough recognition,” she stated.
The couple appreciated her gesture so much, they referred to as her manager. “She was emotional on the telephone, and super grateful.”
Wengel didn’t anticipate to be acknowledged, she stated she was simply paying it forward.
